This month’s fashionista of the month is senior Hunter Meshanic. Hunter uses fashion—specifically the color orange—as a means of differentiating himself from his identical twin, senior Carter Meshanic, as well as to express himself. Hunter incorporates at least one orange colored piece of clothing or accessory into almost every one of his outfits. “I think the whole world knows at this point that I love to wear orange,” Hunter said. “It’s been my favorite color as far as I can remember and I feel extremely confident when wearing any orange.”

One of Hunter’s favorite stores to shop for clothes at is Hollister. “I feel like Hollister clothing provides a good balance of business and casual so that I can look professional while also feeling comfortable,” Hunter said. He can often be seen rocking outfits almost entirely made up of orange pieces, complete with an orange mask and stylish orange accessories. “Some common accessories I add are an orange headband that I rock on some days, and a bracelet that my great aunt made for me,” Hunter said.

His bold, unique, and fashionable commitment to this color certainly makes him a trendsetter. “I dont think I’ve ever seen someone dress the way I do,” he said, “and the polarizing reactions I get from my outfits prove to me that I am pushing the boundaries of fashion.”

Hunter has recently found an outlet to share his love for unique fashion, by co-founding the Looking Good, Feeling Good club. “I recently co-founded a club at KO where we dress up on Fridays,” Hunter said, “and after the first week, seven new members joined so I feel like I had a big part in that.”

Hunter’s grandmother played a big role in inspiring Hunter to dress the way he does. “She always used to love seeing me dress up and would tell me how good it looked, so sometimes I dress up for her sake,” Hunter said.

Hunter’s fashion advice to everyone is to wear whatever makes them feel confident. “Too much time and energy is spent on caring about what other people think of our appearances,” Hunter said. “I feel that if you dress in something that makes you feel good, then you will look good as well.”
