In September of 2020, a new food truck park arrived in the New Park area of West Hartford. Gastropark is an outdoor venue where people can gather to enjoy a selection of local food trucks. There is seating available for people to come to spend time with family and friends in this comfortable environment.
Gastropark offers a variety of different food trucks that rotate throughout the week. They have food trucks come that offer all different types of cuisine, making multiple visits necessary to try them all. They are also mindful of dietary preferences, so the variety helps, offering something for everyone.
Gastropark has reached its goal of creating a space that brings a community together and supports small businesses. During this time, it is so important to support small businesses, so I strongly appreciate that Gastropark is supporting this to help the community’s small businesses thrive.
This is a perfect time for a place like this because it is a safe way to gather and socially distance during a pandemic. It certainly meets the standards of dining in the time of COVID-19. It is a safe way to leave your house and get some fresh air during the pandemic and at the same time even experience trying new foods. It is open Wednesday through Sunday every week, and each day there are two to four different food trucks to choose from. I really enjoy the diverse options of food trucks and how there are always new ones to try out. One day you could go and have tacos, and the next you may have a lobster roll. It really depends on the night.
Gastropark gets some of the best food trucks in the Northeast. Some food trucks that are continually rotating through are Craftbird, The Green Grunion, Bears Smokehouse, and Fuego Picante. I personally have tried all of these and have not been disappointed a single time.
Craftbird is a food truck that offers a variety of different delicious chicken sandwiches and appetizers; it truly just exceeded my expectations. The Green Grunion and Fuego Picante are both Mexican cuisine food trucks, yet both are so unique in their own ways and simply mouth-watering. Bears Smokehouse has a great assortment of different barbeque meals that did not disappoint. These are just a few of the trucks that come to Gastropark, but there are many more that rotate through, providing a diverse selection of vendors.
For now, their seating is strictly outdoors with spaced-out tables and chairs to stay and enjoy your food. The indoor space is in progress; it’s under construction at the moment and will be opening in the future. The food trucks are so easily accessible, that people can just grab a quick bite to eat on the go. The large patio area gives a comfortable ambiance. As the cold New England winter season is progressing, there are outside heat lamps provided at every table to keep the cold away, as a way to still continue seating people outside.
Gastropark has just such an amazing vibe. This fun, casual atmosphere leaves people wanting to come back. It is a family-friendly environment and even has bean bag toss as a fun activity to play while you visit. Not only is it such a great environment, but the food trucks are always so delicious, and the staff is always super friendly.
The main idea of this food truck park is to gather and graze. It is such a wonderful addition to West Hartford. It is the first food truck park in the area, which really catches people’s attention to experience something new. It has become the new “it” spot in the area. I highly recommend this food truck park for anyone in the area. There is a considerable variety of food to try and also gives you an opportunity to help out small local businesses.
