Taking notes at games and interviewing coaches on the sidelines, senior Conor Caneday has been an integral part of the KO News sports section for the past three years.
Conor has worked as an associate sports writer with his own column writing about alumni athletes. “My favorite memory was getting to interview Isaiah Wright,” Conor said. Conor joined the KO news because he was interested in pursuing writing in a different way than he had been so far. He looked to write beyond his typical English essays and history papers. Conor has found that his role as a sports writer has allowed him to achieve that goal of writing beyond his comfort zone. “I think other people should join the news because it’s a community, and you have so many options about what you can write about that everyone can find something they like to write about,” Conor said.
Next year, Conor will be studying environmental science and hopes to write for his college’s newspaper. The KO News will miss you, Conor!
