When walking down the halls of CT, one teacher’s smile and outfit will always brighten a student’s day. We all know and love her: Upper School science teacher Kathleen DiSanto. From her colorful clothes to her fashionable shoes, Ms. DiSanto always knows how to put together some of KO’s best outfits throughout the week.

Ms. DiSanto’s outfits are heavily reliant on her mood. “I would say that once a week I like to get dressed up with a dress or something if I really feel like I’ve got this,” she shared. “But by Friday I’ll be in big sweaters, you know, comfier clothes.” Above all, Ms. DiSanto values being comfortable and feeling her best in whatever outfit she wears. When shopping, Ms. DiSanto turns to specific stores for different items and styles. “I’m a very short person, so when it comes to pants, I like Anthropologie,” she said. “I love Natural Life, which is a very bohemian store, but I love their skirts and dresses.” One fun store that Ms. DiSanto enjoys shopping at is an Australian company called “Black Milk” which puts Pokémon on clothes.

Ms. DiSanto’s core color in her wardrobe used to be purple, specifically plum, but once she got her permanent purple fix after dying a portion of her hair, she started leaning more into colors like dark blues, greens, and the occasional brown. “I really like the cooler-toned colors,” she said. “And I find that my color scheme tends to change with the seasons.” In every outfit, one constant is her jewelry. “I love dainty jewels,” she said. “Nowadays, I always wear the same gold earrings and usually a necklace every day.”

A staple piece in Ms. DiSanto’s closet used to be one of Mr. Brodeur’s sweatshirts. She remembers it being a dark blue color with writing on it from a school of swim. In college, she believed this sweatshirt gave her luck. “I would wear it any time I had any sort of big test or assignment, and eventually it got so worn out,” she shared happily. Nowadays, Ms. DiSanto doesn’t have just one favorite piece, but she definitely has certain items she feels the best when wearing.

Ms. DiSanto encourages people to choose outfits and styles that they feel the best in. “I’ve learned over the years that it doesn’t matter what size item you are wearing,” she said, “but rather that you are feeling confident and that you always are putting your best foot forward.”

Ms. DiSanto also encourages everyone to try new styles and step out of their comfort zone, rather than limiting themselves to just one look or style. “I think the trends are always changing,” she said, “so I would say don’t shy away from new styles.”
