Evan Goldfarb Farewell

Through the highs and lows of high school, we need the ability to persevere through the tough times. A member of the KO community who didn’t fail to do so was senior Evan Goldfarb, who served as a sports writer on KO News for two years.

After taking English teacher Catherine Scheiffelin’s journalism class, Evan saw this as a fun opportunity and was inspired to write for the KO News. He has specialized in sports articles for as long as he has been a KO high school student, even after testing his skills in every other department. When asked what one of his favorite articles was about, Evan talked about a profile he wrote on Coach Ryan Radmanovich. “He is our baseball coach, and the article was about how he made the MLB,” Evan shared.

Evan thought back to his first impression of KO. “I still remember the first day of school when I took Strength as a freshman,” he said. “ That’s the first day I met all my friends with whom I’m still friends, just from playing basketball and working out with them.” He has spent many of the good times making memories with his friends.

Evan has accomplished so much during his time, such as winning the Founders League Baseball Championships and writing countless articles. Evan’s hard work has taken him far and has paid off. Next year, he will be attending UConn to study business. Before we say our final goodbyes and wish him good luck, Evan leaves behind a piece of advice that he has clearly stuck to during his time at KO: “There will be some tough moments, but you have to push through them, and it’ll all be worth it in the end.”
