This year, we are happy to welcome Spanish teacher Duncan Sewall to the Kingswood Oxford community.
Mr. Sewall teaches Middle School Spanish and coaches Middle School football. He earned his B.A. in government and in Spanish at Colby College. Currently, he is working toward his M.A. in Spanish from Middlebury College. Before joining the KO community, he taught Spanish at the Westminster School in Simsbury.
“I want to be a teacher because I want to influence and work with young adults and help them figure out who they are,” Mr. Sewall said.
Additionally, he was previously a camp counselor, which he said was a big part of his decision to become a teacher. “I wish I could be a camp counselor for the rest of my life,” he said, “but teaching, to me, has the same kind of interactions with children as being a camp counselor does.”
Not only does Mr. Sewall enjoys working with kids, but in his free time, he loves reading. He also enjoys cooking and finding new recipes, since he was not able to cook as much when he worked at Westminster, a boarding school. Mr. Sewall also enjoys playing with and walking his puppy, which he got last October.
Wyvern Nation is excited to welcome you, Mr. Sewall, and we wish you the best of luck this year!
