With COVID-19 cases rising in Connecticut and an increasing number of schools going online, it’s more important now than ever to make sure that students, along with faculty and staff, are filling in their ASCEND surveys before they get to campus. More so, it’s incredibly important that these surveys are being filled out accurately and carefully.
The purpose of these surveys is to track symptoms and gauge the overall health of KO’s community. If people are filling them out quickly with no regard to what they’re checking off and the numbers they put in for their temperature, or if they’re not being filled out at all, administrators have no idea what is really happening with our school community. It is our responsibility as students of Kingswood Oxford to be honest with ourselves and the school to make sure that KO’s return to in-person learning after breaks and in general is the safest return possible.
In addition, please make sure that these surveys are being filled out before getting to campus. If it’s not done by 8:00, it becomes the responsibility of Mrs. Perkins to find students. This isn’t a new routine. When we’re on break, no matter how tedious, make an effort to fill out your survey. If it’s not being filled out, the school has no way to track your symptoms to tell you when it is okay to come into school. This is our responsibility as students to make sure that our community is safe and healthy during this time.
