Ms. Kreager settles into KO

Features

This year, the Kingswood Oxford community is excited to welcome new science teacher Carmen Kreager to campus. Ms. Kreager teaches Upper School science and coaches girls cross country and track and field.

Ms. Kreager earned her Bachelor of Arts at Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in education from Grand Canyon University. Before coming to KO, she taught at a middle school in Arizona and has three years of teaching experience under her belt.

Ms. Kreager credits her interest in science to her high school science teacher, who inspired her to become an educator. “Science is everywhere,” Ms. Kreager said, “so I would like kids to understand what’s going on in the world around them.” She hopes that her students can find wonder and curiosity for the natural world.

Along with science, Ms. Kreager is passionate about coding. At her prior school, she was a coding mentor and helped students and faculty with web design, app design, and some Javascript. Outside of school, she enjoys running, working out, and spending time with her kids.

Besides the three-hour time difference, Ms. Kreager says the transition to KO has been seamless. She has embraced the tight-knit community and has found time to connect with other faculty in the science department. “Everybody here is really engaged in learning and wants everyone to do well,” Ms. Kreager said. The KO community extends a warm welcome to Ms. Kreager, and we are excited to see all the amazing things she will do this year!
