Kingswood Oxford is delighted to welcome math teacher Rania Hassan, a passionate teacher and science extraordinaire, to campus this year.

This is Ms. Hassan’s fifth year teaching, and she is coming to KO from Cheshire Academy, where she taught chemistry and environmental science and also coached the Science Olympiad team.

Ms. Hassan has a particular affinity toward chemistry and math, having received a bachelor’s degree in both subjects. Additionally, she is currently working on her master’s degree in biochemistry at the University of Saint Joseph. “I think it was something in me when I was young, as I loved all math and science subjects,” Ms. Hassan said. “Math is always around us even if we don’t realize it, which I think is just beautiful.”

Ms. Hassan knew she wanted to be a teacher since her middle-school years. She always loved helping her classmates, especially with math and science. In a way, her peers were her first students.“I just love spending time with my students,” she said. “I know most kids don’t particularly like math and chemistry, so I always try to incorporate real world examples to show them that math and science are all around us in everyday life.”

We are so excited to welcome you to the KO community, Ms. Hassan, and we can’t wait to see how you will bring your energy and passion to all of your classes this year!
