The KO community is excited to welcome Mrs. Anstead

This year, Kingswood Oxford is excited to welcome Middle School history teacher Kelly Anstead to campus. A West Hartford native, Ms. Anstead is happy to be back where she grew up, doing what she loves.

Having volunteered with the Peace Corps in Guatemala, and with her husband working as a Navy Pilot, Ms. Anstead has jumped around from school to school throughout her teaching career. She has taught myriad different subjects, including history, humanities, and entrepreneurship classes for both high school and middle school students at four different schools around the country.

Ms. Anstead is looking forward to teaching history in the Middle School and is excited about the curriculum this year. “I really like teaching The Power of Water, and we are really trying to plan some local expeditions,” Ms. Anstead said.

Along with teaching, Ms. Anstead loves to go hiking and running, and she looks forward to coaching Middle School swimming and track this year.

Ms. Anstead has loved the enthusiasm of her students so far this year, and she actively builds off of their excitement in the classroom. “The kids are excited to be here and happy to be here,” Ms. Anstead said.

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Anstead to campus and look forward to seeing the amazing impact she will have on the KO community!
