Are you ever craving pizza but don’t want to feel too full after? Oath Pizza in West Hartford’s Blue Back Square is the perfect choice for you. Located next to the recently closed Spot Coffee and down the road from Playa Bowls, Oath has a great ambiance that is very inviting. The service allows the customers to have the best experience possible, and all the employees are very welcoming. Their pizza is cooked relatively quickly, which is great if you are in a time crunch and need something quick. There are only two tables in the restaurant, but that is not a problem because West Hartford Center is filled with great seating that is perfect for eating pizza. Oath Pizza is also great for takeout if dining in isn’t your preference.
They have three sizes you can choose from: the large thick crust, personal thin crust, and the kid’s fluffy mini crust. There is an option to build your own personal pizza where the customer has endless choices for toppings and sauces. My personal favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza, but you can never go wrong with the classic cheese pizza. The flavors of the crust, cheeses, sauces, and toppings, compliment each other creating a “melt-in-your-mouth” sensation. I am normally just a cheese person, but at Oath, I would highly recommend trying their pizza with toppings because it adds more flavor.
In addition to pizza, Oath has a Caesar salad and a Greek salad, as well as an option to build your own salad choosing from an array of toppings and dressings. I have not tried their salads yet, but if they are anywhere near as good as the pizza, I would definitely recommend them. Oath also has Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks and BBQ Bacon Breadsticks. Each of them comes with your choice of dipping sauce. I think the diversity of the menu is great because it accommodates the customer’s preferences; there is something for everyone at Oath Pizza.
The personal-sized pizza is the perfect size for me because it isn’t too big but it’s also large enough that it counts as a full meal. I find myself full after, but still have room for dessert. That brings me to the topic of Oath’s signature Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pizza. The crust reminds me of fried dough because of its fluffy texture, and the mini cookie dough chunks on top of the pizza are delicious, tying the whole meal together. Just as good, if not better than the Chocolate Chunk Cookie Pizza, is the classic Chocolate Chunk Cookie. There are few words to describe how good this cookie is. The chocolate chunks are big and the cookie is soft and chewy. I highly recommend buying a cookie to try when you are at the checkout counter at Oath Pizza. They have two additional dessert options that are gluten-free: the Dark Chocolate Brownie, and Chewy Marshmallow Bar.
Oath prides itself on using “real ingredients, fresh veggies, and organic proteins.” The employees are nice, and the array of options for toppings is immense. I highly recommend stopping in after school, as it is just a walk away from KO!
