Senior Hana Haxhaj truly dresses to impress. With her colorful wardrobe and seasonal-inspired outfits, she never misses a beat when it comes to her clothing. Ranging from fun shoes to a leather jacket, Hana is always coordinated and confident in her outfits.
Hana would describe her style as very mood-based. She picks her outfits at night in hopes of decreasing the stress of having to choose an outfit last minute in the morning. This means that her outfit choices are heavily based on the type of day she just had. “So if I had a really good day, then maybe I’ll risk it and pick out a dress,” she said. Additionally, Hana will choose outfits based on her schedule for the day. If she has more classes, she might dress on the nicer side, rather than if she has a day with two or three frees, where she might choose a comfier option.
When styling an outfit, Hana tends to rely on more neutral colors along with pastels. “I like pastels a lot, so colors like light pinks and blues,” she said. When the seasons change, her color palette follows, as summer shows much brighter colors such as yellows and oranges, whereas winter has primarily blues and beiges. “I have a pair of yellow cargo pants,” she said, “and I want to wear them so much but I have to remind myself that those are a spring color.”
Some key stores that Hana shops at include Brandy Melville, American Eagle, and Hollister. But, within every store, Hana finds a theme. “In Brandy Melville, I am normally looking at shirts,” Hana shared. “In American Eagle, I find the best jeans and pants, and Hollister usually has a mixture of everything, but also dresses and skirts.” One staple piece in Hana’s closet includes an American Eagle floral maxi skirt as she can style it through all the seasons and with almost anything on top.
An element that Hana makes sure to include in all of her outfits is her jewelry. “I have two necklaces that I wear every day,” she said. “One that my mom got me a couple of years ago and one that has a moon on it for my name.” In addition to these regular necklaces, Hana rotates between a few different pairs of earrings, rings, and bracelets. Normally her rings and bracelets are decided on based on the classes she will have, as she tends to find them annoying when she is writing or typing a lot.
Hana shares that her outfit inspiration comes heavily from Pinterest. From color schemes to clothing, she finds Pinterest to have great ideas and outfit options anyone could easily pull off. She encourages everyone to present themselves in a way that makes them feel like their best selves and to remember that they should love their outfit if they want to feel confident in it.
