On Thursday, Feb. 22, at 8:15 a.m., juniors were greeted with a tasty breakfast before school as they received their junior prom invitations formally and spent time with their classmates.
When the junior class entered the dining room, they were met with creative decorations showcasing the Casino Night prom theme. Most importantly, they received their invitations for the junior prom, which will be held on April 6. The dining room was decorated with red and black balloons, streamers, and casino pictures in the background to set the scene.
This event was sponsored by the Parent Association, specifically the junior prom planning committee. The volunteers also actively worked with Form Five Dean Ronald Garcia to organize this breakfast. The Parent Association brought donuts and beautifully decorated cake pops, while Sage Dining provided an omelet bar, chocolate-covered fruit station, waffles, and bacon. The wide variety of food made for a delicious breakfast that students enjoyed. “I liked the breakfast, specifically the omelet station and the donuts,” junior Nikhil Joaquín Rollán said. “It was good, and it was nice that there were a lot of options to choose from.”
In addition to delicious food, there were different raffles that students could participate in. Elaborate Lego sets and speakers were examples of prizes students could win. “I was surprised that there were raffles,” junior Owen Roy said, “but I think all the prizes are cool, and I’m excited to see who wins them.”
Everyone appreciated the time and effort that went into planning the breakfast. “The food, decorations, and raffle prizes were well-done, and it was clear that a lot of hard work was put into it,” junior Johnny Troian said. Junior Clara Drag agreed. “It was nice that the breakfast was organized for us,” she said. “It was also an excellent opportunity to spend time with my friends.” The breakfast overall was a true success, getting juniors even more excited for prom.
