What’s a better way to end the day than with some ice cream? Milkcraft, located in West Hartford Center and southern Connecticut, is an incredible place to fuel your sweet cravings. Open year-round, this ice cream store is unlike any other.
The ice cream is specially crafted with liquid nitrogen, giving the sweet treat its unique richness and flavor. It is also served in large portions, ensuring that each customer is more than satisfied with their serving. One scoop of ice cream is massive. The flavors of ice cream are extremely creative, including Blue Cookie Butter, Mexican Chocolate Churro, Vietnamese Coffee, and Milk & Cereal. Each flavor has signature toppings to go with it. My favorite flavor, S’mores Galore, is topped off with fire-roasted meringue and sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs. Each batch of ice cream is made hourly, guaranteeing freshness and richness to every customer.
Milkcraft is also known for its cones, one of which is their outstanding fluffy waffle cones. These Hong Kong-style waffle cones are giant and caramelized, giving them their signature taste. The waffles are cooked to perfection, providing a slightly crunchy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. The waffle cone soaks up the ice cream, making the warm waffle taste even better. There is also an option called the Creamee bun, an ice cream sandwich made up of a donut and the flavor of your choosing. This is the perfect blend of sugary sweetness. Milkshakes of any flavor are an option at Milkcraft, as well as pints and quarts to enjoy at home.
Besides ice cream, Milkcraft also offers Dragon’s Breath, which is cereal dipped into liquid nitrogen. When put into your mouth, vapor from the liquid nitrogen-coated cereal comes out of your mouth and nose as you breathe, making it look like you’re breathing fire.
The toppings at Milkcraft are endless. They range from various types of cereal to homemade hot fudge and caramel sauce. These toppings are all fresh and new, and the workers give the perfect ice cream to topping ratio.
The Milkcraft store is very homey and cozy, supplying couches and additional table setups to satisfy anyone’s comfort needs. The wall art is beautiful, consisting of a chalkboard filled with facts and images all about Milkcraft. The wood, tile, and chalkboard give Milkcraft an unique look like no other.
Additionally, Milkcraft has a party truck called the Milktruck that is perfect for any large gatherings. When reserved, the Milktruck will serve ice cream for the guests for up to two hours. The ice cream is still made fresh right inside the bus, making the ice cream just as special for guests.
Milkcraft has never failed to impress me. It is impossible to get sick of the richness of Milkcraft’s perfectly crafted ice cream. I would recommend Milkcraft to any person who has never tried it before. Although the ice cream is expensive, it is worth getting at least once because of how incredible it tastes. Milkcraft has got to be one of the best ice cream shops in Connecticut.
