As the longtime voice behind the review section, senior Head Reviews Editor Miles Gruber has built a stellar reputation for being both thoughtful and unapologetically opinionated, traits he fully embraces as a writer.
Outside of KO News, Miles has a love for reading and for watching movies. Right now, he’s working his way through “The Wheel of Time” series while also spending time devouring films and enjoying time with friends.
Being a member of the staff, Miles found his love for writing reviews, especially about the movies he enjoys watching. Since he has a very strong opinion and love for movies, the role came naturally to him. “Writing reviews was pretty easy for me,” Miles said. “My love for films really came through.”
One of his favorite KO memories was taking part in and working on “Hello Dolly!,” the winter musical, his junior year. Even though he wasn’t a major fan of the dancing, he reflected on the joy he felt when the show had all come together on stage.
Looking into the future, Miles hopes to continue with his own writing and potentially become an author someday. In 10 years from now, he imagines himself living in California, doing what he enjoys the most, reading and writing stories of his own.
A fun fact that most may not know about Miles is that he once broke his wrist after falling off a magic carpet while skiing, which ended up requiring surgery!
Writing for the KO News has been one of Miles’ favorite parts of KO, and he thoroughly enjoyed every lasting minute of being a part of the staff, and is bittersweet about his time coming to an end.
Miles has been such a wonderful addition to the staff, and although we can’t wait to see some of his future writing, he will be sincerely missed here at KO!
