10 Connecticut Activities for the Chilly Weather

Features

The long transition from autumn to winter is undeniable; the leaves begin to sprinkle off the trees, pumpkins are traded for Thanksgiving turkeys, which are eventually traded for Christmas pines, and frost begins to dust our lawns at dawn. As the air cools and the days shorten, it’s common to feel gloomy… but it doesn’t have to be. Here are 10 Connecticut activities that might help ease the slow transition between autumn and winter.

  1. Immerse yourself in a production at the Goodspeed Opera House

Attending musicals and ballets, especially during the holiday season, is a classic. The 2026 winter season will be seeing “Annie” for its 50th birthday, as well as other musicals such as “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Crazy for You,” and “The Snow Goose.” Tickets are typically between $200 and $250 and are absolutely worth it!
