This year, as school reopens in-person, Kingswood Oxford warmly welcomes Middle School Guidance Counselor Brenna Chiaputti to campus.
Ms. Chiaputti originally worked at KO from 2005 to 2009 as a Middle School English teacher, but this year she returns as the new guidance counselor.
“Teaching allowed me to coach and to just be with kids,” Ms. Chiaputti said. “However, working in a classroom wasn’t quite my area of expertise, and I felt like I wanted to be able to talk more about stuff that people were going through and to understand what affected them. And so I ended up deciding that being a counselor was a better fit.”
Ms. Chiaputti has a B.A. from Hamilton College, an M.A. in English from Trinity College, and an M.S.W from the University of Connecticut. Before returning to KO, she worked at the Gilbert School in Winsted for five years. While she was there, she facilitated affinity groups and provided counseling.
KO is delighted to have you back, Ms. Chiaputti, and we know that you will be a great addition to the community!
