Senior Farewell: Madeline Arcaro

Features

The KO News has been fortunate to have had senior Madeline Arcaro on the staff for three years, serving three different positions.

She originally applied for the News staff when she was a freshman and started writing for the KO News her sophomore year. She started off as an associate reviews editor, then became the Head of Investigative and this year, she was the Managing Editor of News, Sports, and Investigative Journalism.

The position she most enjoyed during her time on the news staff was as the Head of Investigative. “I really loved investigative because I thought I could go deep into things I was really passionate about,” Madeline said.

One of her favorite things about being on the staff was meeting new people, whether they were on the staff or if she happened to be interviewing them for an article.

Her advice for any new staff members is to appreciate your time as a part of the KO News and to step out of your comfort zone. “Embrace your time on the staff,” she said. “Try to talk to everyone even if you don’t know them or are in different sections, and take on articles you aren’t really comfortable with.”

Although we are sad to see her go, everyone on the staff can agree that Madeline has made incredible contributions to the KO News, and we will all miss her greatly.
