Senior Farewell: Niki Taylor

Features

The KO News community has been fortunate enough to have had senior Niki Taylor on the staff for three years.

Niki started as an associate editor for the reviews section. She then moved on to become the Head Editor of Opinions and this past year, she worked as Managing Editor of Opinions and Reviews.

Becoming the Head Editor of Opinions was a big change for her, as it was a large step to go from just writing articles to assuming a leadership position that involved both writing and editing. But nonetheless, Niki has enjoyed all of the roles she’s assumed. One of her favorite articles she wrote was a review of “Avenger’s Endgame.”

Her favorite part about being a member of the KO News was getting to meet people she would not have had the opportunity to interact with if not for the News, regardless of whether they were on the staff or not.

Some advice she has for incoming staff members is to step out of their comfort zone. “Don’t be afraid to take risks in your writing, and you don’t have to play it safe,” Niki said. “It’s really a great place to learn how to improve on your writing.”

While we are sad to see her leave, Niki will continue to write in college, where she will be double majoring in film and English. She was a crucial part of the KO News, and we will miss her!
