From her first article to her last, senior Ella Wilson has left a lasting impact on the KO News. Bringing wisdom and curiosity since her sophomore year, Ella’s dedication to the craft has been nothing short of inspiring.
Beginning as an Associate Features Editor to improve her writing skills, she would soon earn a spot as a Head Editor the following year– a role in which she truly flourished. As Head Editor of Features, collaboration and leadership taught her several valuable lessons, but she will forever remember the mentorship and strong bond she shared with English teacher and KO News advisor Cathy Schieffelin, who helped Ella find her voice.
Ella’s favorite moments throughout the years were planning meetings and eating Bert’s Pizza. While busy schedules eventually made these night meetings less frequent, they remain a memory she will forever cherish. Similarly, she enjoyed reaching out and conducting a series of interviews on a variety of topics. “I just love being able to interview a bunch of different people and find out what’s going on,” Ella said.
While Ella plans to study international business at American University, she says she is also interested in exploring their journalism program. She views it as a possible path and plans to see where the opportunity might lead.
Whether it was collaborating, bouncing ideas off her peers, staying up late writing, or simply spending time with the people she loves, there was never a dull moment with Ella. Her energy, kindness, and approachability will leave lasting impacts for years to come. We wish Ella the best of luck at American University and we can’t wait to see everything she’ll accomplish!
